The Driven Internship Program | DRIVEN Performance Training Austin

The Driven Internship Program

Most people enter the fitness industry because they enjoy working out.

The reality is that becoming a successful coach requires much more than that.

Over the years, we’ve found that the best coaches combine a strong understanding of movement, biomechanics, and training principles with the ability to build trust, communicate effectively, solve problems, and develop meaningful relationships with clients.

The Driven Internship Program was created to help aspiring coaches develop those skills.

Originally developed as an internship program, it now serves as the educational foundation for both interns and new coaches joining our team.

What You’ll Learn

Our educational approach is built on the belief that great coaching starts with principles. Participants are exposed to topics such as:

  • Applied biomechanics and movement science
  • Assessment and evaluation
  • Program design and exercise selection
  • Coaching and communication skills
  • Client service and relationship building
  • Professionalism and career development
  • The business and operations of a successful coaching practice

While exercises and techniques are important, our primary goal is to help participants develop the judgment and decision-making skills necessary to apply those tools effectively.

How You’ll Learn

The program combines:

  • Educational videos and readings
  • Observation of coaching sessions
  • Guided discussions and reflection
  • Case studies and movement analysis
  • Hands-on coaching opportunities
  • Exposure to the day-to-day operation of a successful private training business

Participants learn not only what we do, but why we do it.

Who Should Apply

This program is designed for students and aspiring professionals interested in:

  • Personal Training
  • Exercise Science
  • Kinesiology
  • Strength & Conditioning
  • Physical Therapy
  • Sports Performance
  • Health and Wellness Coaching

The most successful participants are curious, dependable, coachable, and genuinely interested in helping people improve their health, performance, and quality of life.

A Pathway to Future Opportunities

One of the primary goals of this program is to identify future coaches who may be a strong fit for the Driven team.

While participation does not guarantee employment, many of the qualities that make someone successful as an intern are the same qualities that make someone successful as a coach.
